Things to do
County Meath is world famous for its archeological heritage. The Neolithic tombs of Knowth, Douth and of course Brú na Bóine or Newgrange spring to mind. There are many other activities and attractions visitors to the Royal County can enjoy. Below is a list of some of the attractions.
DroghedaThe historic town of Drogheda has much to offer. There are plenty of historic sites to visit: The head of the martyred Saint Olliver Plunket, the famous viaduct and remains of the old city walls to name a few. DuleekThis it the closest village to Annesbrook, 2km away approximately. The first stone church in Ireland was constructed in Duleek and the ruins can be seen in the old church in the center of the village. Duleek also has several pubs and restaurants. |

Newgrange, Dowth, KnowthThe world famous Newgrange has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This impressive neolithic monument stands on a commanding position on the side of the river Boyne.Dowth and Knowth are often overlooked by their big sister Newgrange but are no less impressive in their own right. |
The Battle of the BoyneThe Battle of the Boyne interpretive center is located on the site of one of the most famous Irish battles. The battle that took place there in 1690 defined Irish history. The beautifully restored house, grounds and the well presented interpretive center is a reflection on how society is now looking at this episode of Irish history in an objective and mature way. |
