Well we think it is fair to say that the Super 8mm party was a success! The weather held which was a bonus, considering it was meant to be raining. Younger members at the party took advantage and played football with some of the more energetic mature party goers.
Big thanks to Dennis Kenny for coming down and sharing his film archive with us. The evening started with the children’s films: Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Flower Drum Song and Fantasia from the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. The evening films were: Sodom and Gomorrah, U.F.O, Logan’s Run, The Third Man and The Killing of Sister George. Dennis wrote an interesting introduction about the history of 8mm film and on the theme of the evening which was “City in Film”. You can view a full version of the program (483kb pdf).
